In the rubble-strewn streets of Gaza, ten-year-old Ahmed dreams of becoming a teacher. Despite the sound of shelling that shakes their fragile home at night, Ahmed attends classes at a makeshift school. The chalkboards are cracked, and books are scarce, but the spirit of learning endures.
Winter in war-torn Ukraine is merciless. In a basement-turned-shelter, Olena and her two teenage daughters huddle together, trying to stay warm. Their apartment building was reduced to rubble months ago. Now, their only heat source is a donated wood stove, and their food comes from aid packages.
